Buddy — your voice-first battle buddy
A veteran-first support system

No veteran should
have to fight alone.

MYBATTLEBUDDY keeps you connected to your meds, your plan, and your people — especially in the hours when asking for help feels hardest.

Voice-first — just talk, no forms

This is not a wellness chatbot

It's a care companion built around trust, brotherhood, crisis handoff, and medication you can rely on — not engagement, not monitoring, not an AI pretending to be a therapist.

The Battle Buddy Pact

Your circle.
Your terms.
Your pact.

At setup, you name 1–5 people you trust — a battle buddy, spouse, sibling, pastor, sponsor, or fellow veteran. Each one accepts the role, out loud. No one is silently added. No one is surprised in a crisis.

Then you build your Action Plan using VA/DoD-aligned principles: warning signs, coping strategies, reasons to stay, and the people and places that help.

The covenant

"What you tell me is private. I'm here to support you, not judge you. There's one exception: if I believe your life may be in immediate danger, I'll help connect you to a real human and alert the people you chose.

That is the pact."

The four pillars

One buddy. All four covered.

Everyday structure, reliable meds, real connection, and a crisis net that never sleeps — one companion holding all four.

Pillar 01

Life Management

Day structure that holds. Routines, VA appointments, sleep and gratitude, benefits paperwork kept in order, and your service story saved for the people who come after. Reminders only — never claims advice.

Pillar 02

Medication Management

Snap the bottle or enter the details yourself. You review and approve the schedule before anything is saved. Buddy then tracks adherence and refills with reminders that respect quiet hours.

Pillar 03

The Battle Buddy Network

Verified veterans only. Buddy finds someone from your era who gets it and sets up the intro. You check on each other — because being needed is protective. A buddy assignment system, not a feed.

Pillar 04 · the core

Crisis Management

Multi-signal detection, a VA-aligned action plan, and your roster worked automatically — until a human acknowledges.

The Crisis Protocol

Concern to handoff, in three tiers.

Detection never relies on keywords alone. A classifier is one signal, backed by deterministic safety triggers and a required human handoff.

Tier 1 · Concern

A quiet check-in. Buddy leans in, offers your Action Plan, and encourages connection with your people. No alerts fire at this tier.

Tier 2 · Active ideation

Walks you through the Action Plan, urges immediate human contact, surfaces the Veterans Crisis Line, and alerts your primary battle buddy.

Tier 3 · Imminent risk

Shifts from conversation to handoff. One-tap 988 (press 1), text, or chat — while escalating through your roster until a real human acknowledges.

It never says "I can keep you safe." It says "I'm staying with you while we get a real person involved."

What no one else does

Acknowledged.
Not just sent.

Every other tool stops at "message delivered." Buddy doesn't rest until a real person picks up — and shows you every step of the way.

Queued Delivered Seen Responded Call accepted

If your primary buddy times out, Buddy moves down the roster on its own — keeping a full, auditable trace of who was reached and when. That trace exists in nothing else built for veterans.

Two rules we don't break
01

Crisis is never paywalled

If a veteran is in danger, payment status is irrelevant. Help is always free, always available.

02

We never pretend to be 911

This is a bridge to humans — buddies, clinicians, 988, VA resources, and emergency services. It is not, and never claims to be, emergency care.

Buddy, the voice-first companion
Meet Buddy · voice-first

Just talk. Buddy listens.

No forms. No clipboard. No "and how does that make you feel." At 0300 you press the mic and talk straight — to someone who speaks the language, holds the line, and doesn't flinch at the hard stuff. What you say stays between you two. Buddy tracks what matters and knows exactly when to get your people on the phone.

"The night I couldn't call anyone, it called them for me. I woke up to three missed calls and a brother at my door."
